Central IT was initially founded in 2003 by Ian Banks, with the goal of being different to the other IT support companies out there. Focusing on being more friendly, approachable and listening to what our customers need or require.

With over 34 years of experience in the IT and communications industry, I’ve seen technology evolve dramatically over the years. One thing that hasn’t changed is the importance of experience when it comes to solving problems and providing reliable, practical advice. My background began as a hands-on engineer, working directly with businesses and solving technical challenges. Over time, I moved into business ownership and management, giving me a unique perspective from both sides of the table. Having worked as both an engineer and a business owner, I understand not only the technical requirements of a solution but also the financial and operational impact it can have on a business.
At Central IT, we believe IT support should be both professional and personable. We take the time to understand how each business operates and provide advice that is commercially sensible as well as technically sound. Technology should support a business’s goals, not simply be implemented for technology’s sake.
As a Microsoft MCSE certified professional and Sage 50/Sage Payroll specialist, I have extensive experience across server and desktop operating systems, networking, communications systems, cloud services, and business applications. This combination of technical expertise and business understanding enables Central IT to provide practical consultancy and long-term technology solutions that deliver real value to our clients.
I joined Central IT in January 2024, and I’ve gained a vast quantity of knowledge so far. I’ve been invested in computer systems since a young age, and have 5 years of experience within the IT industry, having started out as an apprentice back in April 2016. I never want to stop developing or improving my knowledge, and I’m always eager to pick up things and learn new processes along the way. I always strive to provide our customers with an honest, friendly, dependable and reliable technical support service.
I joined Central IT in June 2026, with a lifetime of passion for technology and with over 10 years of experience in customer service, which involved being a problem solver I can find my way around any issue and land a solution for my users. Being new to the team I am raring to go and look forward to the challenges that lay before me.
